One of the youngest performers to top the Mexican charts, corrido trap artist Junior H performed the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theater this last Friday October 6th on a sold out show as one of the stops for his Sad Boyz Tour 2023. Taking the number one spot on the Mexican Regional Album chart in February 2022 and now sitting at over 100 million streams on Spotify, the record established Junior H as one of the movement’s most unique and exciting talents.
Blending traditional elements of Mexican music with the culturally modern lyrics found in Rap and Hip-hop, urban corrido is one of the fastest-growing genres today.
The show officially kicked off around 8:40 with an epic intro on the stage with the signature “H” in the middle that got everyone super excited followed by the full band of more than 20 elements with bright suits hitting the stage before Junior H, setting the mood for an awesome night. Junior entered the stage full or energy performing his hit song “Lady Gaga” with a blast of confetti cannons that looked amazing and it instantly had the whole crowd jumping and vibing together.

The music never stopped throughout the night, the lineup was banger and the crowd was singing every single song on top of their lungs, it was a moment for the books for sure.

Halfway thru the show he took time to announce that the previous day, October 5th was the release of his brand new album “Sad Boyz 4 life II” and the crowd gave him an outstanding ovation.

Although he didn’t perform songs from his new album, Junior H took the crowd back in time performing songs from when he barely started his musical career, making everyone a little emotional but also euphoric.
The atmosphere was electric, with everyone cheering and dancing to the infectious corridos. The Junior H crew never disappoints when it comes to delivering those fire corridos tumbados. He knows how to keep the party going!

Overall, it was an unforgettable night filled with non-stop fun and incredible music. The sold-out crowd, the mind-blowing song selection, and the pure passion in the air made it a concert experience like no other. Puro corridos tumbados!

Special thanks to Live Nation for having me over and letting me share this awesome experience and review of the show with you.
Can’t wait until next time!
